Jordan's King Abdullah II, to Al Jazeera Arabic (Xinhua): "I see a conspiracy against the Palestinian people and the future of Palestine," said the king, adding that Jordan is concerned and upset, and fears about what will happen after the Israeli Gaza offensive. "We must be aware of the conspiracy, and along with Arab and other states we will stop the Israeli agenda quickly," Abdullah said.
The king made the remarks after meeting with a visiting delegation of the World Federation of Muslim Scholars headed by Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi.
The king affirmed that he is working with the Arab and Western countries to stop the aggression on Gaza immediately.
"We, as Arab and in cooperation with some Western countries are exerting our utmost efforts and we pressure on the Israeli government and Israeli army to stop the aggression immediately," Abdullah said.
Queen Rania, in a speech January 5, 2009 (Official web site):“Over the past 41 years, the people of Gaza have been living under occupation. Over the past 18 months, they have been living under siege. And for the past 10 days, the people of Gaza have been subject to a cruel and continuous military attack,” she said.
Sending out an urgent message to world leaders, Her Majesty warned that “our humanity is incomplete when children, irrespective of nationality, are victims of military operations” as she called on all nations to “act to end the fighting, and open all crossings, especially Karni, to permit the uninterrupted passage of wheat, fuel, medicine, and other vital supplies.”
